A mural depicting the rich history of churches in the city of Mansfield was unveiled Sunday at St. Luke's Point of Grace Church, 2 Marion Ave. in Mansfield. The mural was created by Timothy McKee who presented the 14 x 25 foot image. The mural includes images from 16 churches that were taken during the 40 years following 1875. Project coordinator Pastor Paul Lintern said Mansfield was known as the "City of Churches," with a skyline of steeples that greeted visitors to the city in the days before the tall banks and hotels. Lintern said he wanted a lasting contribution from this bicentennial year of Richland County.  "I think it's stunning. I'm excited to have it at the church," Lintern said. Seaman Corporation of Wooster donated the fabric and imaging for the artwork. Lintern has lived at the church for a year, after St. Luke's Lutheran Church disbanded as a congregation. A new congregation, Church Requel, uses the building as a worship center. The pastor is Mark Pierce.
