Children in the Shelby area now have a direct mail service to Santa Claus on the North Pole. A red mailbox has been placed by the gazebo in Central Park, for children to deposit their letters and gift preferences to Jolly Old Saint Nick. Mayor Marilyn John says the mailbox was constructed by Lamb Builders and given to the city during the "Night of Christmas Magic" celebration a couple of weeks ago. The mayor recommends children deposit their letters to Santa by Christmas Eve morning, so he has time to read and fulfill the last-minute requests.
