A proposal to approve a new and improved field house at Ontario High School was voted on Tuesday night.

The Board of Education vote was a unanimous "Yes". The estimated cost is between $1.5 and $2 million. The tentative date for project completion is Aug. 1, 2016.

Athletic Director and Assistant Principal Chris Miller is pleased with the Board's decision and looks forward to the renovation of the field house.

The main focus of the field house will be a large weight room and multi-purpose room for out-of-season training. The project not only impacts the middle and high school students, but allows more gym time for youth sports, clubs and organizations that currently compete for gym-time in the winter months.
