The year will be a little brighter for a couple of local non-profit organizations.

Richland Bank, on behalf of its customers, has presented checks to The New Store.. and Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center. Each received $500.

Richland Bank president John Brown is happy to help, saying the community's non-profit organizations are doing impactful work.

"This has been another challenging economic year for many in our community," Brown said.

"Once again Richland Bank employees have decided to show their gratitude to our wonderful clients by this donation instead of gift baskets. Our community's non-profit organizations are doing impactful work and we hope everyone will share in the joy of making a difference in our community," Brown said.

The New Store will use the money to help buy Christmas gifts for needy children.

And Raemelton will use the donation to offer a scholarship to someone needing their services.

This is the third year that Richland Bank has chosen to donate to community non-profits on behalf of its customers. Past recipients were The United Way of Richland County and The Salvation Army in Mansfield.
