Needy families in Ashland County have a place to go, if they need help getting Christmas toys and gifts for their children.

Associated Charities at 121 South Street in Ashland has started its annual toy giveaway for children through age 18.

Parents can call in to make an appointment, then choose from a wide variety of stocking stuffers, toys, and other gifts. The many donors of toys and money to buy them, along with the volunteers who help parents shop, make this giveaway "the most wonderful time of the year" for Associated Charities.

Nearly 700 families have registered so far, but more are welcome to come in. And certainly, toy and monetary donations are still needed to keep-up with the demand. The toy distribution ends December 23.

Associated Charities' phone number is 419-281-6061.
