"Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" is the theme of a special drunk driving enforcement effort underway through New Year's Day.

The Ohio Highway Patrol, and sheriff and police departments are stepping-up patrols to look for the tell-tale signs of impaired driving; mainly weaving, going too fast or too slow, and having trouble making turns.

Alcohol-related fatal accidents have increased so far this year in Richland County, and this time of year can be especially dangerous. A drunk driving arrest can be very costly, with the possibily of jail time, then fines, attorney fees, court costs, and license reinstatement fees. And if you kill someone, you can look forward to a massive wrongful death lawsuit.
