Spartans Rally Past Redbirds

It was a slow start for St. Peter's in their Mid-Buckeye Conference showdown with Loudonville, but the Spartans rallied for a 61-52 victory.

The Redbirds ran out to a 17-9 lead after the opening quarter behind strong play from Josh Beans and Garrett Quickle, but St. Peter's would ride Richard Shaw in the second to close the gap to 28-27 at the break.

In the third quarter the Spartans would outscore Loudonville 16-11 in the frame to take a 43-39 advantage and closed strong i he fourth fora nine-point win.

Shaw led all scorers with 19 points, teammates Adam Blunk and Joseph Rall added 16 and 10. Quickle was the high point man for Loudonville with 17, followed by Beans' 11.

The 0-2 Redbirds travel to Hillsdale on Saturday, St. Peter's (3-1) will next be in action Thursday at Crestline.
