The Ashland Arrows hope to get their first OCC win this Friday at home when they entertain Orrville. The Arrows fell to 1-3 on the season falling to Mansfield Senior 56-41. Coach Tim Fralick says you can not fall behind 17-3 in the first quarter to the Tygers saying it puts you in too deep a hole to dig out of. The Arrows did play with Mansfield Senior the rest of the way only being outscored 39-38 over the next three quarters. Despite the loss, Ashland put three players in double digit scoring Isaac White, Grant Denbow and Brett Vipperman all scoring ten each. Trey Smith was right behind with nine. Vipperman a junior forward, feels the team is becoming mentally tougher, but also adds that Ashland must rebound well and limit the Red Riders second chance shots on Friday, something the team was unable to do against Senior High. While the A's are 1-3, the Red Riders come in at 2-2, fresh off a 49-48 win over rival Wooster. Fralick says for the second week in a row his team will have to contend with speed, athletic ability and experience.
