...WIDESPREAD FLOODING A CONCERN FOR THIS WEEKEND... .HEAVY RAINFALL IN ADDITION TO SNOW MELT WILL PROVIDE THE SET UP FOR A HEIGHTENED WIDESPREAD FLOOD POTENTIAL FOR THIS WEEKEND. THE SNOWPACK IS RETAINING ANYWHERE FROM A HALF INCH OF LIQUID TO AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF ONE INCH IN THE SNOWBELT. OCCASIONAL LIGHT RAIN IS EXPECTED FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT. HEAVIER RAIN IS EXPECTED BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND WILL CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY NIGHT. MINOR FLOODING IS EXPECTED OVER A BROAD AREA OF THE REGION. SOME AREA RIVERS MAY EXPERIENCE MODERATE FLOODING. THE HEAVIER RAIN WILL BE PULLING OUT OF THE AREA SUNDAY...BUT THE FLOOD THREAT REMAINS AS RUNOFF WILL STILL BE CONTRIBUTING TO RISES ON AREA RIVERS. FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS ISSUED A * FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF OHIO AND NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA... INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN OHIO...ASHLAND...ASHTABULA INLAND...ASHTABULA LAKESHORE...CRAWFORD...CUYAHOGA...ERIE OH... GEAUGA...HANCOCK...HOLMES...HURON...KNOX...LAKE...LORAIN... LUCAS...MAHONING...MARION...MEDINA...MORROW...OTTAWA... PORTAGE...RICHLAND...SANDUSKY...SENECA...STARK...SUMMIT... TRUMBULL...WAYNE...WOOD AND WYANDOT. IN NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA...CRAWFORD PA...NORTHERN ERIE AND SOUTHERN ERIE. * FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON * EXCESSIVE RAINFALL COMBINED WITH SNOW MELT WILL YIELD A FLOOD THREAT FOR THIS WEEKEND. RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 1 TO 2 INCHES OVER MUCH OF THE AREA. SOME LOCATIONS MAY RECEIVE UPWARDS OF 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL. THE EXACT AXIS OF THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL IS DIFFICULT ESTABLISH...BUT AT THIS TIME IS EXPECTED BETWEEN THE I-75 AND I-71 CORRIDORS. SNOW MELT WILL PROVIDE...ON AVERAGE...AN ADDITIONAL TWO THIRDS OF AN INCH TO AN INCH AND A QUARTER OF LIQUID. MUCH OF THE SNOW WILL BE MELTED BY SATURDAY NIGHT. THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL IS EXPECTED SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY NIGHT...ALTHOUGH OCCASIONAL LIGHTER RAIN IS EXPECTED FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT. THE FLOODING THREAT WILL START WITH THE HEAVIER RAINFALL ON SATURDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY AS RUNOFF CONTINUES INTO THE AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS. * FLOODING MAY CAUSE THE CLOSURE OF SOME ROADS...CAUSE YARD AND FIELD FLOODING...AND RISES ABOVE BANK FULL ON AREA CREEKS AND STREAMS.
