Undefeated Warriors Preparing For Double Weekend

After getting off to a hot 5-0 start, the inclement weather forced Ontario to cool down the last week and a half. The Warriors date with NOL foe Sandusky was cancelled last Saturday, following a stretch where the squad won three games in five days.

Ontario head coach Joe Balogh says the team would have liked to of played their game with the Blue Streaks, but doesn't think the time off will hurt them. In a way, Balogh says it was "nice to have a night off" because the team is headed into a stint where they play three consecutive double- weekends.

Balogh also says the break gave the team a chance to focus on their match up with conference foe Bellevue on Friday. A game that senior forward Tyler Gorbett hopes to compete in.

Gorbett has been sidelined during the Warriors 5-game winning streak, nursing a sprained ankle that he says is "getting better" with each passing day. He says it's been tough watching from the bench during his senior year, but understands there's "still a long way to go on the journey."

Ontario won't have to journey far this weekend, hosting the 0-3 Redmen on Friday, then playing 2-1 Clear Fork at home the following night. Balogh says both teams like to "create off the dribble" and have "a lot of similarities", so the team has been able to prepare for parallel styles of play.

The contest between the Warriors and Bellevue can be seen in its entirety on WOHZ Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m. and again on WMFD at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
