Original Published: 12/19/2013The last of the old Ontario GM Stamping Plant came down earlier this week and the property is now ready to house new tenants. Ontario Chairman of Economic Development Mark Weidemyre says that Michael and David Adler of the Adler Group, who along with The Hilco Organization are in a joint- venture of the new Ontario Business Parkway, assured him that "plans are moving forward to redevelop the property." The Adler's have had trouble generating interest in the property during the demolition phase, Weidemyre says. But now that the parcel is in the "reconstruction phase", says that "prospective tenants can see it is cleaned up and ready for redevelopment." Weidemyre says people should expect to see activity taking place at the new business parkway in the spring and that there has been conversations about potential recreational use for the land. Sunfest Ontario LLC has already announced their plan to build a new facility on the reconstructed site. Ontario city council voted unanimously to rename Beer Road, which runs off the west side of Ontario Business Parkway, to Urwin Parway.
