A one million gallon tank to hold untreated wastewater that overflows from the lift station at Park Avenue West and Rock Road in Ontario is nearly finished.

The Ohio EPA mandated the project be done to prevent wastewater from getting into the nearby creek and creating a public health hazard. When it's completed by Dec. 31, it will be filled with a million gallons of water and tested to make sure it doesn't leak.

The $1.2-million project is being paid for from an account of $10 water and sewer bill surcharges, and reserve funds.
