If you're looking for a good laugh to bring in the new year, comedian Pete George will be performing at the Back Room in Mansfield on New Years Day.

The Cleveland native has appeared in the movie Shawshank Redemption, along with other short films and TV series, but made his name as the standup comedian who mixes in electric guitar. George says his unique style earned him the nickname, "The Rock Star of Comedy."

George played in a Cleveland rock band before entering and winning a number of stand-up competitions. George says about half of his performance is stand-up and the rest is "comedy music with rock." George recently headlined at Planet Holleywood in Las Vegas and says he will perform the same exact show in Mansfield.

George says he is "looking forward to the show" in Mansfield and that he would love to see a sell out.

The Back Room is located at 880 Laver Road, off of the Mansfield Inn. Doors for the event will open at 7 p.m. on January 1st, with the show beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets begin at $5.
