Unbeaten Warriors Hold Off Whippets

The long time rivalry between Ontario and Shelby began their duel as NOL foes Friday night, with the Warriors holding off a game Whippets squad 63-56.

Ontario came flying out of the gates, taking a 8-0 lead in the opening minutes. The Warriors would lead 22-12 after the first and took a 39- 28 advantage into the break behind Cameron Mack's 11 points.

The Whippets would head into the 4th quarter trailing by 10, but would tie the game at 54-a piece with just over five minutes to play. Ontario would then go on a 7-0 run and lock down defensively, holding on for their 8th straight win to open the season.

Mack continued his hot scoring streak with 25 points to go along with 7 rebounds to lead the Warriors. Brandon Wagner added 12 for Ontario, Lenell Shelby 10.

The Whippets put three players in double-figure scoring with Tristan Kehres and Lucas Bihl dropping 12, Brandon Schneider had 11.

The undefeated Warriors will travel to Lexington Saturday night, 3-3 Shelby will play at Galion.
