A Richland Newhope bus crashed Monday morning trapping nine people.

The accident occurred around 9:20 a.m. in front 1330 Springbrook Drive.

Mansfield Police officer Rick Clapp said the driver and eight passengers were on the bus at the time of the crash.

"The driver was coming down the hill and the back-end of the bus slid out. The bus caught the edge of the road and flipped sideways," Clapp said.

Several people were transported to MedCentral Mansfield Hospital with minor injuries.

The first emergency responders on the scene reported the road was icy. Freezing rain and drizzle overnight  caused wet surfaces to freeze.

Richland Newhope was on a one hour delay due to the road conditions.
