Richland County has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood, to start a program promoting responsible fatherhood.

The Community Action Commission will seek to help non-custodial fathers break down the barriers that prevent them from spending time with their children, allowing them to be positive role models. And fathers have supports to offer that go beyond their paychecks.

The Community Action Commission has been providing a fatherhood program for more than two years, that has served 200 dads.

This grant will pay for a more encompassing effort, that will start with the needs of children in Mansfield City Schools.
