Car Hits Pole, Knocking Out Power

A woman escaped injury, although her car was totalled, when she slammed into a utility pole during the 11 o'clock hour Wednesday morning. The crash occurred on Millboro Road, half-a-mile west of State Route 314 in Springfield Township. The pavement was dry and she was not speeding. Highway Patrol Trooper Kyle Ross says the woman told him she drifted off the right side of the road and lost control. She also was not texting or talking on her cell phone. The pole was broken-off at the bottom, bringing down electric lines and knocking-out power to fewer than twenty homes. Ohio Edison was called to repair the damage, which was expected to take several hours. The driver was ticketed for failure to control.
