Visits to the Vatican tripled last year as people hoped for a glimpse of Pope Francis. Officials say more than 6.6-million people attended his events since March of 2013. That's 4-million more than his predecessor, Pope Benedict. Erin McLaughlin tells us more. Pope Francis sure can draw crowds. More than 6.6-million, that's the number of people the Vatican estimates turned up to Francis' events during his first nine months as Pope, and that doesn't even include his trip to Brazil. Spend just a few minutes talking to some of the tourists here at the Vatican, and you'll see people around the world are pretty excited about Francis. The Vatican says the pontiff has more than doubled the crowds we saw during Benedict's first year as Pope. It's just one more example of the Francis effect. People can't seem to get enough of the leader of the world's 1.2-billion Catholics.
