Commissioners Approve Employees' Wellness Contract

The Richland County Commissioners signed their 2014 wellness contract with the Mansfield-Ontario-Richland County Health Department Thursday. The $77,000 contract gives the health department the opportunity to provide preventative health care to county government employees and their families, if they choose to participate. Selby Dorgan, Manager of Health Promotion and Education for the Health Department, says cardviovacular disease, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar remain the biggest health problems for county employees. About 800 people participated in the wellness program last year, out of a potential for up 4000 employees, spouses, and children.
