Several Area Teams Ranked In AP Basketball Poll

Several area basketball teams are ranked in the latest A.P. boys basketball poll. In Division I, Mansfield Senior is ranked 13th. The Tygers go into this weekend winners of three in a row and will play two in the OCC. At home against 3-6 Clear Fork, then on the road at 4-7 Madison on Saturday night. In Division II, two teams from the area are ranked in the top ten, both out of the NOL. Ranked third at 12-0 is Norwalk. The Truckers are riding a 55 game regular season winning streak and have two games coming up this week. On Saturday, the Truckers will travel to 3-7 Toledo Whitmer in non-league action. But before that on Friday, Norwalk will face undefeated and 10th ranked Ontario in a battle for first place in the NOL. The 13-0 Warriors are off to their best start since the 1997-'98 season when they won 19 straight games. And in Division IV, two teams are ranked in the top 15. Ranked 11th is 10-1 Buckeye Central who will play two games, both in the NCC. On Friday the Bucks will entertain 8-4 Bucyrus, then come right back on Saturday evening to host 4-8 Wynford. Ranked 14th and winners of ten straight is 10-1 Plymouth. The Big Red is enjoying their best season to date since the 2009-'10 season when they advanced to the D-3 regional final falling in OT to Lima Central Catholic. The Big Red is also playing two this weekend in the Firelands Conference. Plymouth will be on the road against against 4-5 New London on Friday, before coming back home to host 1-10 Mapleton on Saturday evening.
