Martin Luther King Honored During Ceremony At Memorial

The life and legacy of America's most renowned civil rights leader were celebrated Monday. Residents gathered at the Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Memorial in Central Park in downtown Mansfield to pray and sing hymns. After the brief ceremony, the gathering sang "We Shall Overcome" as they crossed Diamond Street and went into First United Methodist Church for a service.
