Original Published: 1/21/2014Richland County's assisted living center Dayspring on State Route 545 will undergo extensive renovations and improvements this summer. Director Bill Cunning outlined his plans for the commissioners Tuesday morning. He says four major issues must be addressed: phase three of the storm sewer; out-buildings and grounds; heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, and fire supression; and the kitchen, dining hall, and bathrooms. Cunning has $176,000 budgeted for the work, and he plans to request $30,000 in Community Developent Block Grant funds for the storm sewer. An architect's designs will determine the cost, but it must be within what Cunning has allocated, or something will have to wait until next year.
