A fire broke out Friday night at the S.T.O.P. (Stop The Overpopulation of Pets) cat shelter on Lexington Avenue.

Mark Sieving, Mansfield Fire Department Assistant Chief, reported that the fire is believed to have started in a basement. After firefighters made entry, the fire was quickly contained.
