It's been somewhat of a roller coaster ride for Mansfield St Peter's on the hardwood this season. Beginning with the loss of 6' 10" senior Cole Phillips on opening night, then losing 5-straight after a 5-1 start to their campaign.

But the 8-8 Spartans have won three of their last five with a pair of sophomores logging significant minutes and are looking to close the regular season strong against some top competition.

Among St Peter's six remaining games are 13-3 Colonel Crawford, 11-4 rival Mansfield Christian, 17-0 Ontario and 6-7 Clear Fork who have won 3-straight. The team believes playing stiff competition down the stretch will better prepare them for a tournament run, which Phillps says he may be available for.

The sectional tournament draw is this Sunday and St peter's will likely have to play the Flames or state ranked Buckeye Central to advance through a tough D IV Ontario bracket.

The Spartans play three games this week, with the Eagles coming to the Franciscan Activity Center on Tuesday, then hosting East Knox (5-12) and Crestview (6-9) on Friday and Saturday.
