The Shelby Police Department is taking a big step toward helping fight the war on drugs in north-central Ohio. It has assigned an officer full-time to the METRICH Enforcement Unit. The Shelby officer assigned to METRICH is Aaron Bushey. METRICH Project Director and Mansfield Police Chief Ken Coontz says Shelby Police have always done the best they could with helping the task force. And Shelby Police Chief Charles Roub says Bushey will make a significant contribution. The assignment was made possible by the placement of Paul Zehner as the school resource officer at Pioneer Career and Technology Center. METRICH has about fifty officers, from forty sheriff's and police departments in its ten-county region.
