A father and daughter from the Cleveland area escaped any injuries when their sport utility vehicle slid on an iced-up U.S. 30 westbound near the State Route 545 off-ramp around 11 a.m. Sunday, and nearly went down an embankment, only to have their SUV stopped by a guardrail. The father, Dinitrios Kalafatis, says it was a harrowing experience when he began to slide out of control. His daughter, Angela, says she's just happy she and her father weren't injured. The father has some good advice for motorists when confronting adverse weather conditions when behind the wheel. Mansfield Police handled the accident and advise motorists to slow down and drive defensively in bad weather situations.
