Smart, Interactive and Educating are three words that truly describe the classroom of Alecia Schalmo and Mike Buttil. They've incorporated technology in almost every aspect of the co-teaching environment, while maintaining a caring and thriving classroom.

All with the use of Google Drive, Nook Books and a program called "Class DoJo".

Along with keeping them engaged in the learning process, they say their third grade class is well behaved and any issues with children acting out have stopped thanks to the program.

Students also have access to Nook books, where they can read books assigned for class, leave notes and look up definitions all within the same program.

They say their students are very eager to learn, and they've seen more interest in their reading group because of the Nook books.

Students and their parents can access their profile's on Google Drive and Class DoJo from home. Plans are also in the works for Career Day's via Skype, where students will again utilize technology to learn.
