A Mansfield man was shot as he was walking on the city's eastside Wednesday evening.

Mansfield police say Calvin Brooks, 42, was shot while walking near East Arch and Hedges streets just before 6 p.m.

According to the incident report, Brooks ran to a nearby residence for help after he was shot. Brooks was transported by ambulance to MedCentral Mansfield Hospital where he was treated and released.

Brooks told authorities he did not know who shot him or what type of vehicle they were in.
