Original Published: 2/20/2014Ohio schools are one step closer to getting more calamity days. The Ohio House has passed a bill that gives districts *two* additional days this year. Right now, they get five calamity days. And many school have already reached or surpassed that limit because of our unusually cold and snowy winter. The extra days would only apply to this school year. But it's not a done deal yet. The Senate will now consider the bill. If the Senate approves the bill it will go to Gov. John Kasich as "emergency" legislation, meaning it would take effect immediately.
