The Richland County prosecutor has appointed a new first assistant to replace newly sworn-in Common Pleas Court Judge Brent Robinson. Prosecutor James Mayer has promoted Bambi Couch-Page from chief criminal case attorney. She has worked in the office for 12 years and Mayer says she has established herself as a tough courtroom litigator and advocate for victims. Couch-Page says being first assistant means she will spend less time in court, but will handle the most serious cases. Mayer says losing Brent Robinson and Chris Tunnel, who became Ashland County's Prosecutor, were tough blows for the office. But he's pleased to have hired former Ashland County Common Pleas Judge Deborah Woodward, and is interviewing candidates to replace Robinson.
