The Ashland Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of fatal accident that occurred Tuesday morning on Ohio 60 north of Hayesville.

Lindsay Carroll, 24, of Ashland, died from injuries she sustained in the crash.

The Ashland Post of the State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred at 7:45 a.m. on Ohio 60 in Vermillion Township.

The patrol says Carroll was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound on Ohio 60 south of Township Road 1806, when she failed to negotiate a curve traveling off the right side of the road, overturning, striking a metal post and a tree stump. The vehicle came to rest on its side in a private drive.

Carroll was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

An Ashland County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Carl Richert administered CPR on the scene. Carroll was transported to Samaritan Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The road was closed for several hours and reopened after 11 a.m.
