Slippery road conditions this morning caused multiple accidents on Interstate 71. The first accident occurred around 7 a.m. at mile marker 166 involving a semi.

Trooper Robless from the Mansfield Post of State Highway Patrol said the driver of the semi was traveling north on I-71 when he lost control of the vehicle.

"He traveled across all three lanes of the highway, and struck the cable barrier. The semi rolled on its side overturning," Robless said.

The driver was not injured.

A few minutes later a second crash occurred at mile marker 163 involving three cars.

"Three vehicles were traveling northbound, two were in the right lane. One vehicle ran into the back end of another vehicle in the right lane causing it to spin out," Sgt. Mike Roth, of the Mansfield Post of the State Highway Patrol said.

"The vehicle came across into the left lane and was struck by a third vehicle. All three cars slid off the road into the median," Sgt. Roth said.

Sgt. Roth said one of the drivers was injured and transported to MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He said one driver was cited for unsafe lane change.
