At 13-8, the Mansfield Christian Flames, winners of the Mid-Buckeye Conference will face Firelands Conference champ 21-2 Plymouth in the Division IV sectional final at Ontario Friday at 8pm. The two teams met earlier this season back in January with Plymouth coming out on top 66-44. Flames coach John Kurtz, says in the first meeting his team was coming off a one point win over rival Mansfield St.Peter's the night before and thought maybe his team was not as motivated as the night before. One of the things he says his team will have to contain is Plymouth's ability to go on scoring runs which they can do with ease with two 1,000 point scorers in juniors Tyson Beebe and Tyrell Edmiston. Kurtz adds the Big Red also has gotten points from point guard Hunter Bailey and three point shooter Dodge Collins. Senior Griffin Wood also adds that his team must hold their own on the boards and not let Edmiston control the paint. The winner of this game will move on to the Division IV district semifinal at Willard next Tuesday against Danbury Lakeside or Sandusky St.Mary's Central Catholic.
