One person was rescued from a house fire by Mansfield firefighters late Saturday night.

Fire officials say they received a report around 11:40 p.m. Saturday of a two-story home on fire at 511 South Main Street. Upon arrival, flames could be seen shooting out of second floor windows and from the attic area.

Firefighters entered the home, found one person inside and administered CPR before transporting the person to MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.

The Richland County chapter of the American Red Cross was on the scene to provide assistance. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
