MedCentral Health System announces plans for a new building at the Mansfield hospital. WMFD's Greg Heindel covered an event Monday afternoon where details about the five-story structure were revealed.

The $80-million project involves construction of a 158,000-square-foot new building. It will include 12 new surgical operating rooms, an orthopedic program, a heart and vascular institute, and open space on the top floor to eventually house doctors' offices.

The expansion was mentioned as part of an affiliation agreement announcement between Ohio Health System and MedCentral Health System Monday.

MedCentral is also investing $4.5-million in construction and new equipment in other parts of its health care system, mainly at the Wellness Complex on West Fourth Street in Ontario.
