Shelby Middle School students today got to interact with a nationally acclaimed youth speaker as part of a national outreach program for Great American Opportunities that educates young people about bullying. Since winning the Toastmasters International's World Championship of Public Speaking in nineteen-ninety-five, Mark Brown now spreads his positive message of encouraging youngsters to be aware of how they treat others. Brown is a native of Kingston, Jamaica, who immigrated to the United States at the age of 18 with just $40 in his pocket and a dream of making a better life and now resides with his wife Andrea in Lizella, Georgia. Through his positive message for students to be kind to others, Brown now spreads his influential "words count" presentation to more than 200 audiences a year.
