Site plans were officially approved for Westmoreland Company to develop the new FedEx Ground Package building in Ontario's new Beer Road Industrial Park.

Final site plans for the 158,485 square foot warehouse, which will boast 50 commercial truck docks, were approved at Wednesday evenings Ontario Planning Commission meeting.

Construction of the FedEx regional hub is expected to begin in early May by Moltus Building Group, out of Midland, Michigan.

Moltus representative Justin Lipscomb says the company is excited to begin working in the area and will likely use local construction crews to act as sub-contractors on the large project. Lipscomb expects construction to be completed by mid-2015 if everything goes according to plan.

Ontario Zoning Inspector Dan Herrold also expressed his enthusiasm for the new project, stating that positive things are "really starting to happen" in Ontario.

Herrald also believes that the new FedEx building taking shape will be attractive for other business developers and anticipates there will be a lot of interest in the new business park.
