Ontario Mayor Visits Richland County Commissioners

  Original Published: 3/13/2014The Richland County Commissioners met Ontario's new mayor Thursday, and were given an update on what's happening with attracting business to the city. Mayor Randy Hutchinson, with Service-Safety Director Jeff Wilson, says the developers of the former General Motors plant continue preparing the site for businesses. Hutchinson says the developers are trying to change the mind of the new owner of Sunfest Herbs, after he decided not to expand the company into Ontario. He also says a Marriott Extended Stay hotel is coming to town. Otherwise, Mayor Hutchinson says Ontario officials have plans to improve traffic flow along often-congested Lexington-Springmill Road, by re-timing lights and building turn lanes.
