Fire Forces Shelby Man To Leave His Home

  Original Published: 3/13/2014A fire Thursday morning damaged a house outside of Shelby. Firefighters were summoned to 5760 State Route 96, and arrived to find heavy smoke. Shelby Fire Chief Scott Hartman says the blaze broke-out in an upstairs bedroom. The cause is not known. Most of the damage is from smoke. The resident got out safely. The Richland County chapter of the American Red Cross was called to provide him with temporary shelter. The Tiro and Plymouth Fire Departments provided mutual aid.
