CACY Holds Kick Butts With Art Show

Community Action for Capable Youth (CACY) participated in national Kick Butts Day on March 19, with the agencies third annual "Kick Butts with Art" show.

The program helps raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco by having kids create artwork that depicts an anti-tobacco and nicotine message.

Eighty-four artistic works created by Richland County students grades 3rd-high school were displayed and judged on creativity and adherence. Gift cards and certificates were awarded to the top three selections in each grade category.

Schools and programs represented included Malabar Intermediate School, Lucas, Clear Fork, Crestview, Shelby, Plymouth- Shiloh, Ontario, St. Peter's, Mid-Ohio Futures Program, Foundation Academy and Mansfield YMCA.

First prize winners were; 3rd Grade: Emily Kleilein of Lucas, 4th Grade: Megan Lindenberger of Plymouth, 5th Grade: Aaron Pfeiffer of Lucas, 6th Grade: Megan Steinman of Clear Fork, 7th/8th Grade: Bryanna Madera of Plymouth and High School: Dakoda Addington from Foundation Academy.
