A 10-year flooding problem for the residents of a house at the corner of Ohio 39 and Springmill West Road in Springfield Township is about to come to an end.

Two years ago, the house at 2111 Springmill West had its basement badly flooded, due to heavy rain running off the field across the street, through the ditch, and into the yard.

Richland County Engineer Tom Beck has been trying since to find a solution, and work is now underway. ODOT is contributing to the cost of the project, which Beck has not yet calculated.

The pipe arrives Friday, and the very long-awaited project should be completed within a month.
