White House To Overhaul National Security Agency Program

President Obama is calling for an overhaul of the controversial National Security Agency program that collect bulk phone data. Currently, the NSA collects massive amounts of data and stores it for five years. The soon-to-be unveiled proposal would keep the data in the hands of carriers. NSA agents would then need a judge to authorize access to specific records. The changes require congressional approval. The New York Times was first to report on the proposal.
