Ashland Mayor Glen Stewart Thursday presented the eleventh annual Golden Oak Awards to a pair of what he calls the city's "most iconic" citizens. One of the awards goes to former Associated Charities Director Marilynn Ferguson. The other goes to United Way of Ashland County Director Ev DeVaul. The Golden Oak Awards were created in 2003 by then-Ashland Mayor Bill Strine, to recognize residents for their unselfish contributions to the community. Twenty-three people have now received the awards.
