Christian hip-hop artist Thi'sl performed at the Cook Road Baptist Church over the weekend. Youth pastor Trandon Groscost said, "Let's just be honest, there's an urban community out there that we're missing." Groscost knows the appeal modern genres have compared to more traditional church tunes, and was excited about the concert. "It's going to be a sweet show tonight," he added.

Thi'sl, originally known as Travis Tyler, realized he wanted to change his life for the better after an incident rocked his world. As a young man, Thi'sl got into the wrong crowds and was almost consumed by the lifestyle he was living. However, the death of his cousin made him look to God for answers. Today, he writes and raps to reach out to young people and shares his experiences with them, hoping to make a difference in their lives.

Also performing was local rapper His-Story, who opened for Thi'sl. The Mansfield hip-hop guru expressed his enthusiasm for the show, saying "This is just something that I feel God has brought me, and that's what I'm excited for."
