Tragedy strikes a Mansfield family this past weekend when a little girl was struck and killed at the Walmart on North Lexington-Springmill Road in Ontario. Authorities say 2-year-old Lanay Brooks died from injuries she received when she was struck by an SUV driven by her father. Police say the accident happened in the parking lot at Walmart near the grocery doors entrance when family members had exited the SUV with the father started to pull forward before his daughter got out of the way. The little girl was taken to Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital where she was pronounced dead, having suffered multiple trauma injuries. An autopsy will be performed Monday at the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.
