An investigation is underway into the cause of death of a man found early Thursday morning at the Budget Inn at 1336 Ashland Road. 31-year-old Derrick Gerheart of Lebanon, Ohio was found unresponsive by his girlfriend. She tried to perform C-P-R, then called 9-1-1. Fresh needle marks were found on his right arm, leading authorities to believe his death was drug-related. No drugs were found. The woman was in possession of two syringes and a small digital scale. The man's body was taken to Summit County for an autopsy.
