Pinwheels For Prevention Of Child Abuse Dedicated

  Original Published: 4/4/20142,391 Pinwheels for Prevention are on display in front of the Mansfield Area Y on Lexington Avenue in Mansfield. Each pinwheel represents the number of child abuse and neglect investigations Richland County Children Services conducted last year. The display was dedicated Friday morning, this time indoors because of the heavy rain. Lexington Mayor Gene Parkison, Ontario Mayor Randy Hutchinson, Shelby Mayor Marilyn John, and Mansfield Mayor Tim Theaker presented proclamations recognizing National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Juvenile Court Judge Ron Spon also spoke of how his court handles child abuse cases, by applying the law with a sense of heart and conscience.
