Despite being outside, then back inside again, the Ontario baseball team is off to a 1-1 start to the season after a win over Northmor 15-1, then falling in eight innings to Fredericktown 5-4 on Saturday. On the start to the season, Warriors coach Dan Gorbett would like to see his team hit the baseball better but believes that will come around as the season wears on and the weather warms up. Ontario junior pitcher Paul Homan believes to win this season the team will have to pitch well and not beat themselves in the field by playing good defense. Weather permitting Ontario will get into the NOL portion of their schedule with road games at Sandsuky and Bellevue. Ontario will return home Thursday and Friday with league play against Shelby and Willard at 4:30pm.
