'50's Sock Hop Dance Held At The Mansfield Area Y

Area senior citizens were taken back in time today as the Mansfield Area Y staged a Sock Hop '50's Dance. The idea behind the event came from Kingwood Center Visitors Services Manager Bonnie Gross, who says her background of health care and working with older adults gave her an appreciation for the music of the nineteen-fifties, so she wanted to put together something to bring the community together. Seniors were treated to songs by Elvis Presley impersonator Bill Allen and enjoyed a buffet-style luncheon and door prizes as they socialized with one another as they relived those years of their youth.
