Richland County Fair Manager Passes Away

One of Richland County's most well known and best liked citizens passed away Thursday after a suffering a sudden illness. 79-year-old Dean Wells was still working hard in his primary vocation, as the chief plumbing inspector for Richland Public Health. Wells was known for taking a week of vacation from the health department, each summer during Richland County Fair week. But he wasn't there to eat cotton candy and ride the ferris wheel.Wells was the fair manager for six years and put in long hours to keep it running smoothly.

Calling hours for Dean Wells are Sunday from one to five at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Services are Monday at ten am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later date.
